The Story

Salix integra 'Hakuro-Nishiki' (Dappled Willow)
Dappled Willow, Flamingo Willow, Shrimp Willow, Dappled Japanese Willow, Variegated Willow, Salix integra 'Albomaculata', Salix integra 'Nishiki Flamingo', Salix 'Fuiri-koriyanagi'

Salix integra, or dappled willow, is prized for the gorgeous blend of pink, white, and light green colors in its tricolored leaf. As leaves ripen, their cream and green coloring intensify. There is more color to come! In the fall, stems turn vivid crimson, adding interesting winter interest. This small-growing willow cultivar has gracefully weeping branches that occur spontaneously. The breeze constantly moves the branches. Because it is a native of Asia's riverbanks, it thrives on moist, well-draining soils. Anywhere in the garden, but especially when it is planted close to lakes, ponds, and streams, it has a stunning appearance.
